What happens if I don't time my IP?

I would like to postpone an expenditure. Eventually I plan to get the IP timed or buy the license for GMTD Scan since I own the cable and basic software.

Is there any harm in running without the fine tuning? I am not getting any codes. It starts rough but I can solve that with the ECT disconnect switch I wired in a while ago (before I installed the new IP).

Just trying to postpone the cash for now since I just purchased the IP and installed it along with some other stuff.

Depends on how far out it is. A little maybe no big deal, alot, big deal. I'd get it timed. Most places will do it for less than 100$. If you can't do it have some one do it.
 
I don't know about a prolonged period of time but I drive around with my IP maxed out for a couple days. Unbelievably loud on a cold start and set a 36 DTC but real fast to start.
 
I drove mine around for about a year and when I finally got around to setting the tdco it was at +3.46. Didn't have any issues with it either. Alot peppier with the -1.94 I have it at now.
