I had not issues with my transmission, I changed the engine and decided to also service transmission filter and fluid while in shop. All went well until I noticed the hot transmission light. I really thought it was a bad sensor so I got a red dot thermometer and hit the pan and dipstick when I checked it. Both were cool and I wouldn't have thought much about it other than rough shifts in all gears at times, others were fine. I crawled all the way under and while the edges and back of transmission pan were normal temp, right below the filter was 360F. The rest was 210, 220 or so. I pulled it in, removed the pan, fluid clean, magnet clean, no smell, nothing looks wrong. I changed speed sensor because it was easy. I am going to flush cooler and change filter and try again unless someone has ideas, I am stumped, thanks.
