found a zf6 near my home station for $1k (unknown if 2wd or 4x4) but am curious whether an np205 t-case will bolt up to it or not if it is 4x4. does anyone know?

anybody? the 6 speed is the 4x4 model (what i would need). just trying to figure out if it has the standard bellhousing from chevy, dont know if there is a different bellhousing pattern for the 8.1 and duramax than there is for the other v8's such as a 454. and also dont know if the transmission (on the output side) has a different bolt pattern than the standard 6 round that gm has used since the mid 80's.

The 8.1L is the same block as the 454 AFAIK, so if it fits that it should fit your 454 bellhousing at least.

thats part of the fitment taken care of, do you know what the spline count is on the tranny output shaft?
