Went on a 600 mile round trip yesterday. I had a buddy with me that kept me from having the stereo cranked the whole way like I usually do when I am alone. Somewhere near the bottom of the a-pillar on the passenger side is one hell of a rattling noise. We couldn't find it. It could be maybe the plastic on the outside rubbing on the windshield but sounds more like it is inside. My truck is an 06 CC and his is an 05 CC. He has the same issue, just not as loud. Has anyone had this issue and figured it out?

does it sound like a flapping noise. if it does, you have the very common "GM windshield flap" as i call it for lack of a better term. it has something to do with the adhesive used on the windshield. it tends to happen in colder temps while going about 60MPH. some have it really bad others not so bad. almost always it happens worse in the colder temps.

if it is that there are several solutions.
a friend of mine took the windshield off and put a piece of velcro in between it to eliminate the noise. it acts as a buffer. i know there are many other solutions to it as well, and i am sure some have been posted on here. i have also heard of double sided tape working well too.

hope that this is what you are referring too and i didn't just waist your time.

Have you got a bug shield? If so, that's what's definitely causing the noise that Josh is describing above. Something to do with the way it disturbs the airflow going over the front of the truck causing the windshield moulding to flap in the breeze.

The velcro trick or 3M double sided tape will hold the moulding down and keep it from making noise.

I do have a bugshield, and it does kind of sound like a flapping noise. I will wait to see if more answers chime in. Nothing against you guys but I really don't want to take the windshield off!

it only happens to me when i have the plow on. the air foil is messed up. but yes common. they have a replacement molding set for it.

mine is very on and off. when it gets cold the noise gets bad. when it gets to the freezing temps and i am doing over 60 i can hear the noice. i have friends that here it all the time any speed any temp. it sounds like a fluttering noice.

I never run a bug sheild on my trucks do to the fact that every thime I have tried one it rattled on the 03-07 trucks so bad. Also the windshield noise was fixed on my truck by just pulling the balck seal back a bit and injectin some silicon in there

it's a common problem, the black rubber trim up the sides off the windshield will lift and vibrate at certain speeds and airflows. Some have quieted it down by slightly lifting the black trim/seal and shooting some silicone in and pressing it back down and hold it in place with some tape untill the silicon dries. Mine does this as well,I just haven't had time to fix it yet. My lund trident bugshield is solid,no rattles like the previous post.

Thank you guys..... I will check it out when the weather doesn't suck around here.

This is how I fixed mine. Cut a small hole in the applicator tip and stick the tip under the balck molding. Then pull it down to the bottom while squeezing the tube. Hit both sides and your done. 10 min. tops. 20 if you have to get the silicone from the store.

Mine does it to, but not all the time. Everything has to lineup just right for it to do it or me to notice it. My radio is on most of the time so that might be why I haven't done the fix yet.

I went to a windshield installer and they told me never, ever use silicone. Thay gave me a tube of windshield adhesive, it's black and wont mess with any future windshield replacements.

i'm warming my truck up in the garage right now so i can stick some double side tape under the mouldings in the morning. it drives me nuts sometimes.

its official. i put double side tape on the driver's side windshield trim and it killed the flapping on that side. the passenger side is tomorrow mornings' project.

My windsheild guy has never said anything about it, I use very little I'm not tryin to hold in the windshield I am just holding the trim down it doesn't take very much

silicone wont hurt anything and can be remove with way less effort than windsheild adhesive:thumbsup:

i have it too once in a while. i remember the guy i bought it from saying it drove him nuts but after i put the lift on it seemed to just about go away. maybe more air going under the truck instead, dont really know but it only seems to do it now when im going just the right speed and the wind is just right. ive also got a bugshield on the front.
