Write-up On Full Install of Balanced Flow Pump, Hayden 2886 HD Fan Clutch, And Duramax Fan

Can this be made a sticky and/or put in the technical reference library.
I disagree. This is just a link to somewhere else. Somewhere else can go 'offline' at any time like the recent photobucket greed showed us. The correct way to do this is duplicate the write up on here with pics hosted on this site.

Also credit is due to the folks that researched/exposed the balance flow problem outside of GM: Heath Diesel.

That's a great idea WW, I should have added that right away. I'll get a link to the articles added today. I also changed some of the wording around. I don't want people thinking that I'm the one smart enough to figure this crap out.

My site is meant as a supplement with more details to this forum in particular and every other place that this info can be found.
My hope is that I can take the hours that I've researched for my own use and put it in one place so others can learn quicker and easier.

Hey guys, I couldn't find info on the install of the spin on fan clutches. The torque of the engine tightens them up but do you have to use the tightening tool to get a specific torque?

Once you use an air hammer with wrench adapter, you’ll wonder why you went without it. No holding anything. Quick BRAAP and it’s loose to spin off. Same install. Spin on, place wrench and quick tap of the trigger.

If using a big crescent wrench, just give a few smacks with a hammer on the end of the wrench.

A well placed machinists prybar through the pulley to hold it.

I used a chain wrench

Very frugal ideas, thanks guys. Except maybe for the air hammer, but I love those. Everyone should have one and they last forever. I've never seen a wrench attachment though! I'll have to look in to that.

Do you mind if I add those ideas to the article?
