Wrapped up several projects on the truck

Finally completed several projects I've been slowly working on the last few weeks.

1) My oil cooler lines were leaking from the crimp, and I had band-aid fixed them with compression fittings and new flex hose, but one of the !@#$% ferrules started leaking again. I decided heck with it and replaced both lines. Didn't have the $$ for the Lube Spec kit, so I went with the Dorman replacement lines from the local parts store. Everything fit up perfect and the snap rings clicked in solid. The fittings on the block were bone dry to start with, so I'm not too worried about them.

2) While I had the oil filter adapter off to service the lines, I replaced all the o-rings inside with GM rings. After 156k, they were flat and brittle.

3) Replaced the shifter boot gasket the PO decided to leave out when changing the clutch. The cab is much quieter now.

4) Made a wastegate controller out of the stock bracket, a spring and a piece of all thread. It looks pretty much like most of the other DIY TMs on here, but I'll get pics anyway. Right now it is set to ~8 psi at WOT.

5) Installed a VDO 15 psi boost gauge in the dash. Pics to come of that as well.

6) 3" straight exhaust from the downpipe back. Definitely lets the turbo spool better and sounds good.

It's a lot of little stuff, but it makes a difference on my old truck, it sure is nice to drive now, and I'll feel better about towing the Jeep with the oil lines fixed.

I just posted in another thread about installing 3" DP and stock sized, but straight piped exhaust.
Sounds like you had fun on yours.

It's always a good feeling to get the small things done on our trucks.
Yeah, I don't know why but every manual tranny truck I've ever seen NEVER has the inner boot reinstalled after a clutch job. Mine was gone already when I had the clutch replaced last year. The guy that did my clutch told me to find a piece of foam (from like an old couch cushion), cut out a big square hunk - about 4 inches bigger than the hole the shifter sticks through, remove the outer boot and either cut a hole in the center for the shifter to go through or split it, either way, stuff it in around/between the tranny and "the hump"....man, you talk about reducing the noise from underneath! Big difference.
