I have a chance to pick up a Banks kit for 200$
intake with parts, two manifolds with crossover, turbo (don't know what style)
and a starter.

Would the unit be better than the gm-3 that I have?

Thank you for some advise

It would likely be the Banks turbo. The Banks turbo isn't much better than the GM3. Still just too damn small and chokes the engine in higher RPM!

If you want a turbo to blow your skirt up I would recommend a A Team Turbo. For just better results you can try the HX40, but, not going to pull as hard to redline as the A Team does.

Banks Sidewinder turbo. Tight shaft with no end play or up-down play. It does look small, exhaust is 2 3/4" for a 3" down pipe. Missing the 3" turbine hook-up for the v band.

I don't push the truck much past 2100 rpm. Keep speed around 60-65 mph. Used it twice last summer camping. I picked up the kit parts due to the cheap price yet don't quite know if the turbo swap is worth it. I would like to have the A team, but like most of us is coming up with the money. I gave up a lot of things for the big salesman.

It would be good to hear from those on this board who ran a Banks set-up on a 6.5

Might have to trade it off.

I did and it was too small. Ran it on my 93 w/ some advance and 3/8's turn on the fuel screw. With a big load on what most would consider rolling hills I could get 1400 egt going up hills and broke 20psi too easy.

Buy that banks kit for cheap and sell it for the price of the ATT (or more).
