Ok, WTF is going on. Why are the 'McParts' stores no longer stocking refills?

At least Advance, AZ, and O'Rielly in my area are totally ignorant to my request for refills. This has come about within a year. It's bullshit.

Auto parts stores are looking more like Wal-mart everyday. Trash.

I asked a 'parts professional' about this. His reply was: "It's easier to just buy the whole assembly"... Are you kidding?

So when my tires wear out, I suppose I need to go buy a new TRUCK....?

Bastards.

I went into an O reilly (used to be Murrays) yesterday, what a joke, almost as bad as auto zone. I have the advantage of a great NAPA store right across from where I work, I am used to a "real" auto parts store.

I think the refill thing comes down to the fact that its cheaper to stock fewer items. Look at individual parts on many vehicles now, you have to buy the "assembly" instead of the small part that you really need. I fear its only gonna get worse.

In all Honesty, I didn't even know they still Made Wiper Refills.

Why? Any Auto Part Store you go in around here has the whole Wiper.

I'd Bet Money on it, if you Asked for a Wiper Refill, they'd Ask if you were Looking for Washer Fluid.

All we've had hear for several yrs are the whole unit. It was a lot easier to change the refill than the multi vehicle blade.

The price of the new style stinks....about 12 bucks per blade

That is, in a nutshell, what I mean... What next?

I sincerely can change a refill with no more effort that the whole damn thing. You can't tell me the "stores" are trying to save space, either. Now they have 10 different friggin' styles of designer crap that I have no interest in. I think with the exception of Bosch, the rest is made in china.

I sound like a tight wad I know, but I hate it when I have no choice in the matter.

Such as life eh?

I have found that within 6-8 months wipers are shot no matter if you buy expensive ones or not. I usually buy the middle price ones $6.99-$7.99. Changed out 2 sets yesterday on the Silverado and Yukon.
