Any know how to remove the small plastic trim on the windshield of a GMT400?

Does it even come off separately or is it part of the glass assembly?

I've got a leak I need to try and seal up, but can't get to anything with the plastic trim piece there.

I've actually never looked very close at the windshield to metal area on this truck when I think about it....

BJ, I saw the post in the other thread. I had a similar story with my back window in the 88. It started smelling bad and soaked the jute pad under the carpet. A friend of mine who works installing glass tried sealing around the current silicone. It didn't work so I ended up pulling the glass out and having him completely re-seal it.

There were two reasons in my case why it didn't work. A: Silicone doesn't usually stick very well to itself particularly if it's that old. B: The leak had actually started corroding the area a little bit, so it needed cleaned up before the window was re-installed.

As far as I know, the upper trim is part of the glass assembly when the windshield is glued on. I don't think there is any sure way to get it off and positivity re-seal the window. My opinion, just have the window replaced. I need to replace mine in the 88 still, been putting it off too long.
