Will the 40 gallon tank off a 99 diesel Suburban work on a 96 Gas Suburban with a 40 gallon tank.
I have a tank off of a diesel and a friend has a gasser that is leaking.
I thought the tanks were the same part number.
He brought up the vent hose. Is the vent hose on the gasser an issue?

I think it will work, but the gas tank will have rollover valves in the top of it whereas the diesel does not. The part numbers according to rockauto are different for the 2 trucks, and the pic shows the spots for the rollover valves in the gas tank where the diesel tank does not have them.

Just to be accurate, the diesel tank is 42 gallons. Don't know about the gasser version.
