WIF light, will draining the FFM through the drain work to turn the light off?

The new take off FFM I got has always been a little weird flickering the WIF light when the glow plugs cycle off.
Now I was very concerned when the light stayed on for 30 seconds before going off.

I then drained out a quart of fuel from the FFM water drain and it had 2 tablespoons of water settle out.

Light is still coming on after sitting and then going out after a few seconds.

Flowing fuel out the water drain did not get any more water to settle out. It had sat 30 min before I opened the drain the second time.

Do I need to pull the filter to get the water out of the FFM or will it exit via the drain? 1993 if it matters.

Depends on how much water you have in the system. I usually run at least 1/2 gallon out whenever I am doing diagnosis or changing the filter.

I have on several occassions had that alone clear up my problem

Might as well run out more fuel...Like said above.

Changing the filter/water cartridge is always a good idea if the current one is close to max saturation level.

Keep diluting your fuel tank.

Good advice to pull the filter.

I am going to turn a fuel station in for selling me water in diesel. I have pinned the offending station down.

I opened the bleeder valved and sucked the FMM dry with the transfer pump I have. I then changed the filter, cleaned the FMM out, and cleaned the Walbro screen. YUCK again!

The transfer pump has clear lines. Nothing like seeing the bugs grow white plumes in the lines and the collection jars I used. This was in just 12 hours of sitting! The jar with water was the worst.

Not sure if I can recover my costs for the bug and water filled fuel they are selling me.
