Where should they be?

Mine has a duramax fan and HD fan clutch,, and run's about 185-200 Optimal temp is 195F
I have a new reman eng with about 15000 miles and run's 60PSI at idle and 70-80 while running
pegged at 14 running with nothing on. 105Amp Newer Alt ,, lights heater Etc... on ant I see 12.

A good way to help out the Alt& charging system, is to put a heavier gauge wire from the back of the Alt to the pos bat cable say 6 gauge or so. This will help the Alt get the juice to the Bat ALOT better and show less of a draw on the system, with accessories on.

On the battery to alt:
4 ga even 2 ga cable. Same for the jumper bat + to +.
If your Tach (rpm) is wacky, it is a sign that alt is bad.
Mine shows about 14v unloaded, less than 14v with AC highest vent setting and lights (55W HID).

Most stock 6.5's will show around 14V on the alternator but many will drop off after the rig is warm due to flakey instruments.

Temp with stock stat will run close to the 200 mark
Oil pressure is usually around 40+ at road speed and idles at 20 or so.

The instruments in these rigs are subject to a lot of variation.

The instruments are generally crap and may or may not be accurate.

As long as everything seems ok and the rigs normal readings stay pretty close your good to go.

Some 6.5's will run more oil pressure especially the rebuilts.
If an older block (non oil spray) gets a newer oil spray pump the pressure will be noticeably higher due to the extra volume of the pump.

just so info for ya....

Make sure you do something about the little resistor that is in the alt wire. It is there to help prevent the battery to be charged to fast or it can explode...

Speaking of guages......i see alot of people on here mention their intake air temp. Are you guys running a guage especially for it? and if so what make and model. I was interested in hooking one up to try some different intake configurations

If you don't mind a digital readout I'd recommend the ScanGaugeII. http://www.scangauge.com/ I watch my IAT on this as well as a lot of other info. It plugs into the DTC port and tells you what the PCM is seeing on most of the sensors (doesn't tell you MAP for some reason), can read and clear trouble codes, and has a somewhat flakey MPG meter in it. Lota gauges in one and for IAT you can see where your PCM starts its de-fueling when intake temp gets too hot.

Now of course this only works for the OBD2 rigs unfortunately, '96 and up, and they actually don't recommend it for our diesels. It works for most functions though and you need to specify a non-CAN cable.

Yea i do like the scangauge setup, but I already have boost and EGT guages, so it seems kinda foolish to ditch those. I would like to find a 2 1/16 guage to fit under the dash somewhere.

Now on the scanguage, does it read the intake temp from off the PCM or is there a seperate sensor?

My temp runs 185 about, with a 180 delco t-stat.
My oil pressure is 50 cold and 20 hot idle.
Battery is pretty much 13-14 all the time...

The ScanGauge does not read the boost and egt so you would not want to ditch those anyway.

Before I got the ScanGauge I picked up a second auto trans temp gauge for use on IAT. I drilled and tapped the upper intake in the flat area (after I took it off of the engine) and put the sensor there. It reads reasonably close to what the scan gauge says but doesn't respond nearly as quickly. If you look at the stock sensor it has holes drilled through it, probably for increasing the response time.
