should i go with the stock crank and new balancer or with a scat crank and fluidampner? am planning on going with 18:1 comp and turning my pump up along with putting my he351 on in the near future

Since you want to push it over stock levels ,I went for scat and fluidamper. You also didn't say that cost mattered. The real limiting point is the block and heads. If the block breaks the scat crank will break. A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link.
 
I called and spoke to a Fluidampr engineer. He convinced me that they have a soundly engineered product. Also, most members I know (TurboVanMan especially) love their Fluidampr. Also a great write-up on the 'paid' site on the product. I would put one in if I had enough money, esp. on the Tahoe, which revs a bit higher (due to the user...:) )
