So I want to do the fogs on mod, even if I don't have the lows on, I want the fogs on all the time. Is there just a wire to be jumped, or does a relay have to be added? I'd like to not have to spend any money if possible, or maybe just a relay or something cheap like that. Thanks!

I just tested mine and the fogs and the parking lights came on with no drl's or low's. I had to turn my know to the off position first.

From what I have read today the 07.5 and up are different.

Let me understand this....

You want fogs but no other lights? And you want sole control over the fog lights? Like a DRL light?

I want the fogs on all the time, with and w/o the headlights, low and high beams. Is there a way to do that? I hate having to push the button everytime. I wish it was like my Bonneville, where when I push the button they stay on even if I shut the car off.

Try to run a diode from the DRL's to the fog lights. That would get your fogs every time you put it in gear. Otherwise, that might take some wiring to make them hot all the time, like a custom switch. Flip the switch and they have power all the time. Flip it again and they run like stock.

I might not be understanding the question - but if they are after market fog lights, I've always ran a wire to a switch in the cab and then from the switch to the battery. The switch may or may not have a ground in the cab, and the lights will have a ground. As far as remembering that you turned them on or off - you can either put a notice light in line between the switch and lights, or you can buy a toggle switch that has a light at the tip (warning - its super bright!)

If you decided to put after market back-up lamps up - you can wire straight into the back up lamp wire on the truck (need to figure out which one it is though). And this time around when I do it - I'll be running an additional wire from the engine - to the cab - to the lights for when the truck is not running or in reverse, but I want the additional light.

as far as relays and fuses and all that - I don't know anything about that. If you're too worried about popping something - put an inline fuse somewhere on the hot side, but other than that - I don't see any problems doing it my way.

I'm referring to the stock fog lights on our 05. The lights below the bumper in this pic:

I really hate wiring, and thought maybe this could be simple. But, it's looking like a little more than I want to do to a truck that isn't even mine, lol. I'll see if anyone has any more ideas. Thanks to all who have helped.

The only sure way is to wire them on a separate switch, giving you the option to use them whenever you want. You pretty much already have that though since you can run your fogs without your headlights now. I understand what you want though.

When its dawn or dusk, I just hit my fog button and thats it. I like the look of the DRL's and fogs but no headlights, even at night.
