What is the biggest size tire I can fit under my truck with out a lift I am willing to crank the torsion bars so any help

I currently run 285/75 R16 but they rub turning and with a bump. Next set I am going to drop back to 265/75 R16.

285's fit fine on my K3500. I had 285's on my k1500 and they never rubbed but got close, that truck has seem uneven ground too.

Now I used to have an 06 1500hd and with the bars cranked I was able to fit 305/70 so how much different is their between them

305/55 r 20's rub on my 06. I had to knock my rear fender well mount out and use zip ties and I still rub the sway bar on my pass side.

Gmt 800 has less room front and rear but more between the tires and upper fender.

Typically there is not enough back spacing for 305's on factory wheels plus a 285 sits nearly right below the fender and a 305 is going to stick out and beat the fender even worse.

265/75 is affordable, and fills the fender wells nicely. fits stock wheels, wont rub, better load rating than 245/75 or 235/85.

why the need for big rubber?
