I had to rename the title - I first worded it "what is the proper amount of time for your hose to get hard"...... lol

So, from a cold start, how long before you should be able to tell the system is pressurized? I know a blown head gasket can cause the hoses to get firm in just a couple of minutes.

Thanks
Smitty

I can tell you that when my truck had a blown head gasket, it (the hose) was hard in a few seconds.

I would venture a guess of when the cold advance/idle kicks off.
