What is different on the van 6.2 if anything? Looking at a van and wondering if the collection of 1993 and other 6.2 spare parts I have will work.

What kind of mileage would I expect from this type of van?

IIRC the vans used different heads that had slightly different angle on the injectors for clearance reasons.

Injector lines would be different too I think.

Basically the same old stuff. The vans were sort of an odd duck in places because of the tight engine clearance.

The short block and all the internals are the same though.

I think they've got the older style heads, pre 88. the lines are the same timeline. the injectors may be different. I think they're the short ones.

I don't rmemeber there being any difference on the one I had but that was awhile ago. It's not like a 6.5 center mount. My old Van got awesome mileage(see photo album) what a moron I was for selling it. I have NEVER seen a high top custom van since with a 6.2. It got 23+mpg if driven with respect.

I have noticed as I am sure you have too, we always get a bug in our butt and sell things that we should keep. Ever figure out what this is all about ???

I am still kicking my backside for selling the 91 diesel Burb I had a few years back.

I should have kept the Red/Black 91 Burb I traded off this spring.

Oh well, such is life eh ??

Back to the thread topic.

The vans got great mileage if used as a light people mover.

The 6.2 NA vans use the same short injectors as the 6.5 turbo, haven't been into mine any further to tell anymore differances - except that only 1% of vans were diesel.

I have a question about reaching the #1 injector and will start a new topic to see if anyone has a tip ! ( #'s 5, 7, 6, & 8 are super easy, 2 & 4 are harder, 3 will be very diffacult and #1 is *@^%#&$!! IMPOSSIBLE TO EVEN SEE OR TOUCH)

That is the story of my life although the motor blew shortly after I sold the Tahoe so who knows. I think the guy beat the thing though. He had never owned a diesel before. My diesel Jimmy was quite a nice truck too but at the time was playing the band circut and humping a PA system and Bass rig around in a lifted truck wasn't cutting it and the van made for a nice place to crash when I was too drunk to leave the gig...):h
