Changed out the drivers side glow plugs.... found this-

it was broken before I pulled it out, Looks like one of the bad injectors I had torched the end off... Very likely this is part of my cold start smoke.

Also replaced the washer pump-

looks like it caught on fire, all the pieces were charred and crumbly...

i can now clean my salt covered windshield, even if most of the fluid is ending up on the ground by the cowl vents... tomorrow Ill check all the hoses near the wiper mechanism.

LOL... guess where the other 1/2 of that glowplug is?

Embedded in the top of your piston.

I'd try to get at the other 4 pretty soon...

BTW - that is one UGLY washer pump!

im hopin i got lucky and the thing flew out, doesn't sound like its gettin smashed so its either in there pretty good or not at all.

truck sounds better at idle now, maybe the new glow plug in that cylinder gave it some more compression to match the others... Hopefully doing the other 4 tomorrow.

'Nuff said about the glow plug except...

Your washer pump looks like mine did before I replaced it...fugly. I had a section of washer hose that was crackd right at the bend where it came over the reseviour, couldn't see it until I pulled it back a bit. Short section of hose spliced in and problem solved.

I might try to pull the injector on the cylinder that the glow came out of. Looks to me if it broke off, the piece is to long to fall into the cylinder but may still be in the pre comp chamber. But if it went up in a fireiry ball "o" chit,, doubt you find anything.
