iv already got boost and egt gauges installed inplace of the stock radio.
my question is what other gauges would be good to add while the motor is out.
im deffinetly going to put a fuel pressure gauge in would like one with an elec sender but they are very pricey. (not to keen on pumping fuel in the cab)

would an IAT gauge be a good investment?

battery voltage?

Oil pressure?

water temp?

are the stock ones of both of those fairly accurate?

oil temp?
 
Coolant temp on the rear cylinders. Put the senders in the caps on the rear ports of the heads. #7 and#8 are the ones that overheat first.
 
(assuming EGT & boost gauges are already a done deal)

x2 on a good quality engine coolant temp gauge.

Soon as you can compare the more precise movement & readout markings of a good aftermarket gauge - the factor gauge's limitations become apparent. Being able to clearly differentiate 210 & 220, 230 etc., lets you make knowledgeable decisions on how hard you dare pull it & when to let off during peak summer temps.

Fuel pressure gauges & the diagnostic ability they give you have been well discussed on the forum.

I'd give oil pressure the next priority.

While it's not necessary, I like having oil temp for a couple reasons:
1. seeing oil temp hasn't come up much yet tends to delay driving the truck harder than you need to - until it's truly warmed up.

2. As oil temps approach 200 F & over, having both oil temp & oil pressure gauges can give you a good idea how viscosity is changing as oil temps go up.

You'd be surprised how well your truck will run without a working lift pump too. Or clogged filter.

I love the FP gauge. Gives me confidence. Can adjust your driving curves to use the least pressure.

I went cheap electric sender stewart warner, and couldn't be happier.

do you have a part number for the electronic gauge you used for FP and where did you get it
 
If you want to go for consistent looking gauges, Stewart Warner has come out with several gauge product lines about 3-4 years ago. Believe Summit Racing's website shows most of them.
