My 2000 K3500 needs a neew diff cover. It looks kinda like the old 14 bolt ones but It's not a full floater. Any body got one ? Mine rotted out. I started losing gear oil. Lucky I didn't blow the rear.

It has 14 bolts on the cover but from what I saw on summits site there are three different 14 bolt covers 9.5 ,10.5 , 11.5 How do I know which one I have ? They don't give enough info on summits site. It's a work truck I just want a cheap fast fix.

It's a semi floater. I have never had the cover off but it does not have axles that can be pulled without pulling the wheels.

you have the 9.5 if it is a semi floater.. 10.5 is full float and 11.5 is whats in the newer trucks/Duramax's.. IIRC..

Cool. Thanks deere. I have the semi. Time to order. Summit will have it on my doorstep in 3 days. That has been thier track record.

Slim,
That was a nice setup. In my younger heavy 4 wheelin days I wouldn't think twice. Now ...just fix it so it can haul firewood.

If you lived where I do, You could pick it up at Summit in 30 minutes ):h

So my laziness strikes again. The dinky little hubcaps this thing has I would never have guessed it's a FULL Floater. Thanks again Deere for the link. I thought it looked old school like my old 74 GMC. The messed up part is there is really no rust anywhere on this truck except the diff cover disentigrated.Of course I had already ordered the 9.5 from Summit online but they are awesome. I called up and they already knew who I was and fixed it in less than 20 seconds.

Nope just lazy, I mean look at the hubcap would you think there was a full under there ? Guess I'm thinking old days when a Dana 60 stuck out 5-6 inches

But from what I hear the fulls are a lot more rugged. My semifloater 14 blew up last winter @ 210,000 miles. Awesome 600 dollar repair.

I wasn't sure what you wanted and the site could also help you determine what type rear end you have. Glad you have the problem solved
