What brand are Leroy's vacuum pumps and what is a TBB for $30?

I also have a TBB in my cart for $30, but I can not remember what that is.

How hard is it to swap the vacuum pump pulley?

Looks like I could damage it getting it off. Should I just order a new pulley before I even try?

Vac pumps are Cardone. Brand new (not rebuilt) never had a single problem from one yet.

The Vac pumps I was getting from NAPA before deleting system, were only lasting a few days under a year. They would replace them with a new one cause there were 3 days left on the warranty. Like clockwork.

Jeff,

The thing that I have had the best luck with is the proper pulley remover and installer kit.

I have this exact kit, in fact I just picked up a second one at my favorite scratch and dent warehouse store in Salt Lake City the last time i was through.

Not the "contents made in USA" molded right into the case. Half the reason to buy right there. ;)

It works very good, I have been quite pleased with it. I am sure there are better setups out there, but for the "bag for the buck" ratio and country of origin IDK if it can be beat.

I already bought a cheapo OEM from Amazon. I wanted the overnight shipping for free.

Thanks

If I had known I could find made in the USA I would have shopped harder. I doubt OEM tools are made here

You can rent the puller at advance or autozone for "free". I just did it last week and it's the power steering pulley remover for GM. Works on the power steering and vac pump.

With their tool rental, you pay full price for the tool, then get it back ~5 days when the return clears your credit card.

I got the cheapie lisle puller at Mcparts. The timing wrenches I got were Kent Moore, they were not cheap.

Kent moore is good quality , but overpriced as the only gm authorized specialty mfr that all dealers are required to be outfitted with.
Lisle has a very low return rate, and excellent warranty. They make a lot of Mac, Snapon, Matco and Cornwell tools that are just rebranded.

I'm gonna attempt to fabricate the bends into a gearwrench to see if it is any easier to loose/tighten that one nut thats a PIA. Back to the subject.
