I have had this truck couple of years and just at this week I found out that it has factory keyless entry system. I have the remote and I thought that just battery has run out. Changed battery but no, nothing happened. I don´t know what button is what because they are so worn, but nothing is happening no matter what I press.
What could be wrong there?

either the fob is DOA or it needs to reprogramed:

GM vehicles are equipped with keyless entry systems.keyless remote image by Ray Kasprzak from Fotolia.comGM cars and trucks are equipped with keyless entry capabilities. This technology gives owners the ability to remotely control their vehicle's door locks, trunks, engines and panic alarms. You can program or reprogram your keyless-entry FOB system in just minutes from your vehicle. Programming requires only your ignition key and your keyless remote itself and you will be ready to use the device immediately with your car, truck or SUV.
Instructions.
1 Enter your GM vehicle with your keyless remote and your ignition key in hand. Close all of the car's doors behind you.

2Insert your key into the ignition and press and hold the "Unlock" tab on your driver's side door. Be prepared to hold the tab through the next step.

3Turn the key in the ignition to "On" and then back to "Off" two times in quick succession.

4Release the "Unlock" button on the driver's side door and wait for the car's locks to cycle to indicate the beginning of the programming sequence.

5Hold down the "Unlock" and "Lock" buttons on your keyless-entry remote until the doors respond by cycling again. This will indicate that the programming was successful.

6Repeat step five with any additional remotes and turn the key back to the "On" position to end the programming sequence once you have finished.

Probably time for a new FOB!

Forgive me for saying, and I am not trying to insult your intelligence, but are you sure that you put the battery in the right way? Sometimes those button cell batteries flip over, and you have reverse polarity. Just a thought to double check before you go searching further.

And thanks blizzardplowman for instruction, I´m gonna try today!

Not without a frequency detector... do the lights come on when you push the buttons?
