So I've been researching injectors for my truck,, getting good info from all you folks,, on what to use, what Not to use,, and how to do it. So for grins:D today I went out to actually look under hood to see how bad it's going to be,, ( Really I was hooking up the plow for the 3"-4" were possed to see tonight, that won't come now that I got my plow on! ) and as I was looking at the rusty bodys on my current injectors,, What do my eyes see? The new style return lines,, the clampless style with the criss-cross mesh. Hmm, me thinks someone might of replaced the injectors at some point!! But who know's when?? As my symtoms see to be post nasal drip. IE leaking injectors,, Now I have all new Bosch deratherm Glows,, like BRAND NEW!! and on a 38F day @ 5:am my truck starts Just like DieselSlugs in this thread.

So now do I just pull all of my injectors, and take them to my a local shop I found that will pop and spray pattern test them for $6.00 ea, and also rebuild them for about $45 ea. And just do the ones that are leaking?? Or just buy new set and put them in. As I have no idea what model one's are in my truck.

With that modern looking supply rubber hose's it seems that someone replaced them at some point, but must of used a cheap brand.:mad2:

Ahh the saga continues:sad:

If you got the cash, replace them.....If money is an issue check them.

Replace = Good for another 100,000 mi and don't have to think about them.

Just because you have newer return lines doesn't necessarilly mean that you have newer injectors. They may have just replaced dry rotted lines. You did say rust injector bodies.

Yeah the bodies,, look a little crusty,, not terrible,, as they were R&R'd 2 years ago when a reman was put in, at that time the Mech that did the r&r said, "they look fine"
as he was ready to have the job out of his hair, cause he had just did the r&r 6 weeks eariler, as my first Internation Diesel reman, broke a rod with 1400 miles on it. So he was pretty sick of my truck at that point. Nice guy and I trusted him completly as I had worked with him there for years. Maybe he put the new rubber on when he did the R&R, but he didn't mention it nor did I see it on the bill.

you can get brand new bosch injectors from rock auto for 45 bucks each... no reason to have them rebuilt for that price.

I meant I found Brand New Bosch for $35 ea. that dealer in clearwater has a very good rep for heads, and happend to have these injectors for a good price.
