Well, i do not know what came over me, maybe lack of faith in this current economy, but i passed up a complete 97 C2500HD DOT rig at auction for $500.
6.5L, 4L80E, RCLB, orange, 2wd. Around 200K, or maybe less...to many trucks at this sale to remember! wrote on window "new starter, no batteries, needs water pump". why would the state pull the batteries? IDK, but they may have been hiding a wore out or overheated motor. I really should have bought it for parts, as it has the upgraded cooling, airbox, and turbo, as compared to my 95. and if it checked out, a complete motor for me, and a tranny to sell to those unfortunate to not have a 5spd.
Also at this sale were a 97 and a 98 GM K2500HD RCLB 5.7L vortec, auto, 4wd, over 200K, and they both went less than $1K.
and there was a tacky (cutting torch to bottom of muffler for el cheapo straight pipe, uncoupled wiring, super oily 6.0L, mud packed everywhere) C2500HD 6.0L 5spd 2wd RCLB that went for $1,250.
Thing that might have been worth it was a 2005 K2500HD D/A GMC CCSB silver, fully loaded SLT, alloys, etc 80K miles, supposedly 50 or so hours on meter, went for $15-16K. it was quite clean, had spray in liner, bed rails, and a Weatherguard box.
oh well, there will be more.
