weird start up issues

i used to have a pic of the springfield armory crossed cannons as my desktop backdrop, it was small so i used the cascade/multiple feature to make it fill the screen. it was up for a long time, but decided for a differant pic last week. i deleted the small springfield pic from my pics and for some reason now, when i type my password to log into windows that same small pic apears with a black screen until all my settings are loaded then it pops to my desk top. like i said i deleted the photo and it still does it. any thoughts?
