weight question

I hope someone else chimes in here, but when I recharge them I let it take as much aas it wants-- until it stops taking it. I never read a book or a can or anything on how to do it though, maybe Ill blow up someday

When charging it is best to have a scale so you know exact charge by design of the system.

Yes when using the sticker calling for charges on your dryer sticker, under hood sticker, or tech manual is 1#=16 oz of freon , a caveat though, this is assuming you are charging with the freon it was designed to run with with, & on a fully evacuated system under vacuum,

A conversion R12 to R-134 (the specified R-12 charge may not be best R134 charge) or if you have some freon in the system; gauges & thermometer highly recommended to allow you to add what the system can operate safely with, you'll be close but you may not be at optimum charge efficiency by design spec for the ac system.

Don't forget most cans of freon only have 12 oz freon in them, and you won't get 100% into the system from a single can.
