there are a couple that we are interested in.
one is an "07 Travel Lite Cabover Camper, like new - $8000 in Lufkin. This camper has been used little.Every thing works. It has stove, microwave, threeway refrigerator,AC,bath with potty and shower, also has a outside shower for cleaning up before going inside.I will throw in the $750.00 hold down system and a extended trailer hitck for pulling a trailer behind the camper." no pics in the ad so will call to get some.

the other one is a "LANCE TRUCK CAMPER - $4000 in houston. 1996 LANCE TRUCK CAMPER, EXCELLENT CONDITION,NO LEAKS,TOILET/BATH/SHOWER,STOVE/OVEN, DOUBLE SINK,REFRIGERATOR,QUEEN SIZE OVERHEAD BED,REQUIRES 8 FT BED TRUCK,AC/FURNACE WORKS GREAT." it has a couple of outside pics but no inside, looks to have been stored inside a garage. this one looks like a good buy bc it is half the price of the other, esp if it is as good as stated.

it will be going on the 93. would like one as big as possible bc we used one on our latest trip, 8' mounted on a short bed Ford. w/ the 2 kids 3 and 4 now it will only get worse as we all get older. that one was pretty cramped.

anyone have any experience w/ one of these? if there is anything for sale close to me could you post a link or info.
thanx for reading this loong post.

that would be a good deal but looking for something a little closer to houston..

just curious...why a slide in? are you planning on towing something as well?

you could get so much more camper for that 7500 and not be so cramped...
http://beaumont.craigslist.org/rvs/2528645564.html slide in ...I think this is one you are looking at
there was a couple of those i was looking at. the main reason is money. can't store at the house bc of the housing police, so storage fees will be the first, lot more maintenance, tags. it's the little things that will keep me from getting a tow rig bc they will add up and just get on my nerves.
slide in will be stored in the garage where the pop up is right now(and will be for sale when we get a slide in), i have a 3 car garage and a shop already(pretty much the same reason i would never get a boat). if i could store it at the house, my thoughts would be diff. the room was not really an issue in the one we used recently until sleep time for the kids came. the couch made into a bed and took up all but 6" to get in/out of the door. we did all the cooking/eating outside, it was summer, but would like to go all year bc my days off change every 3 months. weekends off for me are a luxury bc these are the first i've had in over 10 years.

Here is one that has been for sale for a long time. I wanted it but found my fifth wheel instead for a cheaper price. Here is a link:

If you do get one do not go cheap for tie downs. I highly recommend tork lift tied down that mount to the frame and not the bed.

There is also a camper store about 1 hour from my house that specializes in cab over campers. They are called princess craft in Pflugerville, TX. I have not made it out to there store yet but one day I will. They have a great website:

Wish you luck and happy camper hunting!

Man, deejaa, getting into a slide-in will be VERY cramped as the kids grow... I had one years ago when mine were little and it lasted one season; we were ALWAYS running over each other and dealing with crap int eh way.

We went to a tent-trailer then, because (a) we could leave the beds set up on each end and still have the entire living area available, (b) it left the bed empty for carrying barbeque, bikes, golf clubs, quad, etc, and (c) it was light and didn't react in a wind, and mostly because (d) I could go to the store for milk without loading up everything and everybody.

Like Paul said, you can get a lot more trailer for a lot less money. Consider using the money you save to store your trailer? Not sure what storage rates are like down there, but in Calgary, you can get secure storage for about $50 a month... less if you know a farmer!

thanx for the luck, gonna need it.
i saw the camper you linked, thought about putting it on the truck and selling the trailer. how long has it been for sale? have you looked at it? if i get the wife interested in it, will you give it a look and accept a finders fee? need to see if it's for a long bed and why isn't selling. looks big enough.
tork lift is expensive, over 250.00 each. looks like a good product and will check it out though. there's an authorized dealer in houston. thank you for the information.

storage is about the same here, outside. the weather here will degrade plastics to a dry, brittle pile of junk after just 2 years, paint fades, rubber dry rots, frames rust from salty humidity. really don't want a trailer. if i can get a slide in that is big enough i think we will be happy. plus, i can keep it in the garage. might make a good man cave or dog house for me. def gonna check out the one in killeen.

I know you think you can make due with the space...but if you camp often enough, I promise you will regret it...we started out in a 20' prowler ...breaking couches and dinettes down nightly is a hassle...and we had very little storage...We have two kids an 11 y.o boy and 9 y.o. girl , along with 2 yellow labs... we now have a 31' bunkhouse model with our own queen b.r. with a living area slide and a slide for the kids bedroom ...its just right if you ask me...while the slides aren't a necessity(we could live without them) they sure make it nice...here is a link to what we were able to get for 12k...you could easily spend much less for an aluminum sided model without the slides and be very happy with it...

I will go look at it or you but, It will be for free. You never know when I need help down in your neck of the woods.

It has been for sale for atleast 6 months or so. He will only list it once till it expires and then list it again. The trailer is atleast worth 1200 to 1500 around here. That it self makes it a better deal.

That brand of slide in is strong and sturdy. Wish they still made them.

If you need any help with this PM me and I will give you my number.
