Hey all new to the fourm....started to pull the water pump from my 1997 chevy k2500...after removing all the fan and belt...and looking at my new water pump in the box...I noticed that I need to pull the whole front cover off to get the water pump....can it be done easy ?...with out pulling all my hair out and getting too deep.

Don't panic!
Take a look at what brackets/accessories need removal to get to the waterpump big bolts and and the plate it is bolted to.Timing housing stays in place.
Take pics of what goes were before removing and keep the bolts/nuts with it.
You may need a skinny 15 mm open end wrench to hold the stud hex behind a bracket if the stud happens to spin when you turn the the nut holding the bracket down. There are a couple bolts (13 mm socket) between pump body and crank pulley.
It ain't that hard but it takes some time.
The 2 big studs each side of the pump are trough bolts and need tread sealer upon install,..i just use a couple wraps with teflon tape on them.
