My Wastegate solinoid has been acting up for about a year now and I am deciding to replace it and wait for Tim and slim to finish up their testing on the Chinese turbo. IIRC it is on the driverside of the engine compartment towards the back. Where is the best place to get one. Hopefully not the stealer.

Thank

SS Diesel has these available for ~$50-60. You could also build a simple turbomaster out of about $10 in hardware from Home Depot and bypass the questionable vacuum system. Lots of info here and DP to walk you through it.

I picked one up from the dealer for around 35 bux a few years back... easy to pop in in the dealer parking lot. Yeah, its on the the right of the intake, at back of engine.

If you have EGR and all that crap there are 3 units on a bracekd back there. IF you have F engine w/no egr, its the lonely solonoid. has a 2 small vac lines going to it.

I got mine from independent ACDelco part store. Check their website and call ahead since this is old part. The stealer may have it or can order it for you, try to find their internet part sales person. They usually can get it at a discount instead of retail. I had to get the alt. bracket from them and I called their internet dept. Another source is places like Kennedy or SS for mail order.

Thanks guys! I was going to go the homade turbo master route but that would require me to by some guages (which I am planning to do) but finances are going to my injectors right now.

IMO build a TM, and buy a boost gauge, boost is cheaper of 2 minimum gauges needed about $30 and part store, later on if you want a matched set get a pair of boost & EGT that match, but most auto part stores have a inexpensive one you can use to set your TM to, then you can get rid of vac pump as well, I'm assuming your Burb is a F code engine.

SSDs attitude toward FSD location/warranty and glow warranty and shipping to Canada policy UPS only; does not put them in high regard with me & a few others that have been there with them, most auto part stores if they don't have them can get the WG solenoid as cheap/fast as SSD, including AC Delco brand if you want.

Part no. 214-1073 (Delco) or 1997227 (GM). I am not sure if this is the same for all years, this is my note for 95.

Rockauto have it, I am not sure if they shipped to Canada.

As I said, call the stealership first to see what they charged, that can become your price bound.
