Wanted OEM volume knobs, AM/FM CD player&/or AM FM cassette for the 95 Tahoe & 98 Suburban

I need 2 volume knobs or complete units with knobs.

Does anybody have the GM part number for volume knobs?

Any links would be appreciated. I don't so much care about the Suburban with the AM/FM cassette. I'll just bitch when I'm in it.

I found several radios on Ebay. Some had an extra port in them like this

What do I need for Illinois new hands free law - besides a new phone? Maybe I should be taking that into consideration while fixing the radio knobs. I'm probably just going to replace the radios since the knobs seem to keep falling off when anybody else drives the vehicles

IMO, if you are not a techie, IPhone is about as simple as it gets.
Get a bluetooth earphone and you should be hand free.

As for stereo, try checking Crutchfield.
If you need discount code for Crutchfield, let me know.

Do you have to have a data package for Iphone? We have no data package. Can't afford the extra $100 a month for 3 phones.

We currently pay Nextel $120 a month for 1200 minutes, unlimited texting & 2 way

I'm about as untech as you can get.

Yes, you need a data pkg for an iPhone. They won't let you have one w/o it. But, all you need is a phone with Bluetooth if you get one of those FM-broadcast thingies to give you hands-free. Bluetooth is different/independent of a "data pkg". If you current phone doesn't have BT, most new ones (even simple ones) have it and you may be eligible for a free upgrade.

I replaced my GM radio (built-in cassette with separate CD) with an aftermarket one that has built-in BT. It also has a built-in DVD/CD (came with the "pocket" to replace the CD), I added rear screens for the kids and a rear camera. Wow - is it easy to line up my trailer onto the ball!

So I DO want to go with a new radio with Blue Tooth built in.

Can you give me more info on the radio you bought?

How much did it cost where did you buy it?

We really need to get new phones. I have to buy Sprint phones somewhere besides Sprint. We are elidgible for upgrades but their service is so crappy I don't want to be stuck with a 2 year contract by upgrading with them.

I bought a Valor unit from Crutchfield. I really like Crutchfield for their customer service. Prices are usually pretty good - not always the best, but awful close. They only time I've found better prices is from some place that has zero customer service. Crutchfield also send along everything you need - including GOOD instructions.

The Valor unit I bought is model #ITS710W. It's good, but not top on the line. Has a lot of features and they all work fine - but the graphics are a little "old school" - Not sure how else to explain that!:) From looking at their website, it looks like they have improved, though, and my model is no longer made. I think I paid somewhere under $600. But, again, this was basically a full-featured unit... 7" Touchscreen, DVD, supports rear-screens (I added those), Ipod, SD data card slot, supports rear-camera (I added that) and NAV (I didn't do that).

Go to Crutchfield and enter your vehicle info - then you can select/narrow your search based on what you want. Check-off "Bluletooth", at a minimum. You can get a basic, Bluetooth radio, for a lot less than what I bought. But, then, you can pay a lot more than I paid, too.

tHANKS A BUNCH.

Does anybody know a good place to buy 3 Sprint phone that do not need a DATA package but have BT? Any recomendations?

We've been putting this off for a long time. I would have switched to Verizon for one of their deals but they wouldn't wave the $120 hook up fee for 3 phones.

I buy my phones on Ebay,, when people upgrade, and then sell their old ones. cause I'm a tight wad

My basic phone is BT enabled,, then I buy a new old model BT for under $25, and I've been hands free for 3 yrs. I hate to hold a phone. Just bought the wife a Chevy Cruze, and it has BT built in,, thru the radio, it cuts out, and becomes the phone while she is driving. LOVE IT!
