I am wondering did anyone ever weigh there suburban? I do know the gvw but I am just wondering just sitting still what the weight might be

thanks:thumbsup:

A stcok 6.5 4X4 should be around 6200-6300 I was told. I'm figuring mine to weigh in around 6500-6600 now with the DMAX. Gonna have to adjust the front torsion bars as she sits noticeably lower now in the front.

The 6300## is about right with fuel and driver.

My DaHooooley crewcab weighs #7000 with fuel and driver. The burbs being slightly shorterm with single rear wheels will account for the slightly less tare weight

My 99 weighs 6448 lbs with me and tool pouch.
Me= 220 pouch weighs 30lbs....6198lbs for Suburban.

Wow if this is right I will be happy. I am trying to figure out how much weight difference there is between a dmax truck n my burban.

I do know what the wight sticker says but for 1/4 mile runs it helps me understand what I am up against

thanks

Thanks everyone for the input. I will have to weigh mine and see what mine actually is.. At least I know it does not weigh 8000 lbs empty,,,,lol:thumbsup:

That's not the vehicle weight, that is the GVWR.

Has this been discussed before?):h

I am fairly certain my '94 gasser Suburban comes in at just over 6000#. It's a K1500 and has the mouse in it, but it does have leather, so I think that adds some weight. I'm thinking 6100# or so. I would guess a 6.5 Burb to be somewhere under 7k.

I thought that was gross vehicle weight. I never thought about it but the R should be a t if that is it. When I needed a power steering pump the guy at napa asked if it was 6000 or 8600 gross vehicle weight. I looked at the sticker and told the guy 8600. The pump for the 8600 was the right one.

update....

I weighed mine a couple of time today with different options ( taking out different stuff, completly empty, ect...)

I was still heavier then I wanted to be.

I took out everything that I could. tire, tool kits, 3rd seat, everything that was nailed down.

I got it down to 6480 with 5 gals of fuel....

I was hoping for 6000

That number isn't re-assuring for me, I believe the DMAX with an ALLISON weighs in a bit heavier than the 5.9L with a 47RE.

I have had mine towed twice and they had a hard time getting it lifted from the front and took it from the back both times

What kind of Tow Truck can't pick up a 7000 lb vehicle?

4X4 "should" NOT be towed......Now that doesn't mean it can't, short distance is ok if your going slow (40 mph, tops) also FYI and FWIW, you always want the "drive wheels" off the ground.........So if your truck is 2WD, it was towed correctly.
