Valve cover leak

I just finished my Teds motor and finally found the leaking return line and that was causing a racket. Such a tiny leak that I could smell but hard to find. Anyway the drivers valve cover is dripping pretty good now and the only way I see to fix it is to pull intake and injector lines on that side. I'm really sick of teardown, but really want a leak free truck. Just venting

I know exactly what you are saying... I've had my motor apart a time or so, and after getting it all installed / up and running, the damn passenger side valve cover is leaking

I followed your build thread so I understand. I just want to get the truck out of project phase and back to work. I am getting pretty speedy at teardown.

This project is like a 4wd crack addict. It just isn't satisfied until it parts a hundred from me daily. I can't imagine having to pay for the labor involved, cause the parts bill has gone past worst case scenerio. The rear output seal on the transfer case started dripping this morning. In the eight years I owned this truck, I can think of 3 or four days something didn't leak.

You think you are having a bad day, we went camping last week and I said to my wife, The engine is making an awful bad noise. My thinking is it is valve train related. We made it home towing the trailer so that was good. Once we had everything unloaded I took it in to be fixed. Right now it is sitting in another country being fixed. And the word "country" is not a misprint as in county. I am in Canada and the truck is in the USA.

Sorry to hear about your trouble. I'd be nerved up with a broken truck in another country with strangers working on it also. Good luck, any word on problem?

I had a leaking valve cover a few years after a rebuild, but all I had to do was tighten the bolts down - they had loosened up. Any chance that's all you have to do?

They checked the compression and said it was low on two cylinders. I can see that as I had a quiet kind of popping going on until the bigger one started. So that to me does make sense. I didn't tell them that though. I just said if they think they can replace a part here or there to try that before pulling a head or both.

I tightened the nut on VC and there is less leak. Gonna change the o rings on the oil filter adaptor today.
