So I installed the ATT, and removed the vac pump from under the AC compressor (different in 94s than 96+).

Anyone know if the vac pump bracket is required for AC compressor support?

Thanks

I was advised by Todd at Heath Diesel that the bracket is necessary. It offers some good support to the AC Compressor, especially when under a load.

Let's get some wicked ATT Youtube action!

FYI to those that don't know difference; I'd think that is for pass side a/c compressors, from what I've seen on ones I've modded makes no difference on later models with driver side mounted compressors.

Yes, that is how 94-95 is different from 96+ along with dual stats and other stuff. Compressor is on passenger side, alternator on drivers side.

I think I'm going to do the vacuum pump delete when I do the harmonic balancer soon, and maybe the fan clutch mod too. I can't seem to find the new serpentine belt size, wasn't it 99 inches or something? I checked the part# sticky up top but it shows just part numbers not sizes, and for some reason the part number is the same for with and without vacuum pump, which can't be right.

I used a 100", which is a factory length, along with 102" for 94.

I couldnt find a 99.5".

At Napa they have all the belts as 6KXXX, 100" was 6K1000 and 99" was 6K990.

99" I couldn't fit.

Huh? you lost me. Is 100" the stock size, or you mean "a" stock size for something else? A 100" will fit and work, if I can't find a 99.5, then? Mines a 97 with AC on drivers side

Dan, yours as being a 1997 is using a 101" stock belt, same as mine.

The 100" did last a week before the belt tensioner was out of range (too loose), the 99" was a pita to install and there was just about no play left for the tensioner, and I suspect my harmonic balancer was killed faster than it should if being normally belt driven.

The 99.5" is just about perfect.

I found a GATORBACK 4060995 at Fleabay, and Leroy provided me with a Gates belt
