A few of you may know me from my 6.2 posts about my motor surging, well, it stopped....I powered it on today and it ran without it surging.

It would usually surge after 10 minutes, 1 hour later and it's acting normal, the ONLY thing that puzzles me is this:

It does do a TINY bit whenever I'm at a high speed and then let go of the throttle

- full throttle to like 45ish (Or a decent speed)

-let go of pedal completely

vroom...vroom..... idles/runs normally

Other than that, it's running normally??? I'm glad it's fine but still, took me by surprise

(Note: it has warmed significantly since my previous post, it's now 45°F compared to -5°F)

Idling: https://photos.app.goo.gl/k6Z2jBduBCJy6iAu8

(Edit: it still struggles to start, even with the new batteries, it'll crank well and then start/turn over, but then it shuts down completely, and I'd have to restart the cycle process hoping it starts, its weird. Not sure what that is)

Get the clear tubing on the ip return line.
Here is a video of a 6.2 with the clear line and the absolute most air in the line where the engine actually ran.
Had to have throttle half way to get it to start and at full throttle in neutral it barely hit 1,000 rpm! So this was an extreme example.
Just a couple tiny bubbles on occasion is enough to cause what you are experiencing.
I have used cell phone recording taped in place on engine while driving to find your type of issue before.

I tried getting a clear cable earlier, but neither O'Reillys nor ACE had em, gonna try again with other stores tomorrow

Hardware store like lowes, ace hardware, Home Depot, etc all stock it. Just clear pvc tubing. Buy a couple screw style hose clamps to fit the hose, the factory spring clamps won’t fit. It is not fuel rated line but will work for a few years.

You only need 6” piece of 1/4” inside diameter.

Best option long term is the actual clear fuel line from here:

There is a 50% chance this will show your issue. Once the clear hose is on- just replace as needed but never go back to the black rubber hose.

I ended up using zip-ties on mine to clamp it. the smallest worm gear clamp they had was too big.

side note: when leaving it sit overnight and the fuel drains out of that clear tube, it's usually and indication of one of the rubber return hoses on the injectors leaking. I have a very slow leak on my 95 that when left sitting for a week the fuel will drain out of the clear hose. I finally found one of the injector return hoses seeping fuel.
