Hello guys, its been a rough past year. Recently I had a rocker arm come loose, found it on the back cylinder of drivers side. The truck started popping through the intake when I was pulling out of the parking lot. Idle the truck across the street and turn it off, towed it to the shop. Back together again and now my turbo has a different type of wine to it, boost guage shows good boost, egt's look good and has good power. Any suggestions or ideas of what is going on.
As always I appreciate everyones time.

Yea I thought of that also, but just wanted to make sure nothing can happen with pressure coming thru the turbo when it was missing. Like a bent fin, also when I was removing the injector lines I found both back injectors a little loose. Any known situations with that?

New turbo whistle can be from installing the intake elbow wrong - by cutting it on the turbo inlet allowing dirty air in where half of the tube goes in the turbo not around it. Check the intake tube for damage on the bottom. Check air filter etc. I have also found that changing the exhaust or the exhaust touching something transmits noise.

Thanks I will go and check the turbo tube is ok and seated correctly. I will also check the exhaust, I know the filter is ok because I just had it off to clean it since it was time to.

Why was the truck popping thru the intake? My truck started popping thru the intake last year, turned out to be a collapsed lifter. The air being pushed out of the intake ended up also blowing the oil out of the turbo and into the intake, and trashed the turbo.
