Was watching powerblock TV today and they wer installing a turbobrake on an '08 DMAX. Interesting stuff! Now they also mentions a Variable Vane Turbo but they never showed the swap out. So my question...
Is the stock turbo already a VVT? And...if so, would it also be stock on my '04.5 LLY?

Yes the stock turbochargers are variable vane turbos. and yes your LLY also has one. I don't believe that they are the same as the LMM but all opperate under the same principles.
