My 98 Chev 3500 w/ 6.5 loses power & throttle response when going up or down hills. Thanx in advance for your help!

Can you please give as much info you can about the truck? Modifications, exhaust, intake, turbo....Is then when empty?

Do you have any diagnostic codes? Do you have a boost guage? Any color smoke coming out of the exhaust at the time?

I have removed the cat converter. Installed the pmd in the bumper.Put a # 9 resistor @ the pmd.Cold air kit. It is more evident when the fuel is low. No check engine light.I don,t have a boost gauge.I don,t see any smoke.89K miles.Thanx for responding Buddy !!

Ok, you should probably go through the diagnostic checklist then...

Test the LP.

make sure you have a fuel cap for diesels, it should say diesel on it.

Get a boost guage when you can. very handy

Definitely fuel or the lack of... all of the suggestions above are plausible, so yes, please fill out your signature and carefully go through the checklist and look at the items there.

We don't ask for the checklist simply to cause you work; actually going through and checking all those items on your truck eliminates many of the everyday preventative maintenance issues that can cloud the problems you're having... in short, if you HAVEN'T checked those things in a while, it's overdue.

gee, my truck loses power and throttle response on hills too. I always assumed it was because it's an underpowered overweight stock 6.5.
