I once saw a 66 Chevy shortbed on a 78 K5 Blazer frame. Even with the bed shortened in front of the stepside fenders, the rear wheels didn't quite line up. I've been wondering if I could put a 65 GMC longbed on a 4x4 frame, like maybe a 70s-80s Suburban, or rclb pickup? Not even sure what the wheelbase is on the 65. Probably could look it up.
Anybody done this? I'm wondering how tough it would be. What I would be aiming for is to have the 65 cab and bed setting on a 4 inch lifted 4x4 solid axle chassis, using the newer v8 auto ps/pb chassis. Other than fabbing body mounts to line up, the only thing that I think might be hard would be the steering column.
