We had our trans flushed at the dealer @ 100,000kms/62500miles and will be soon due again @ 150,000kms/93750 miles. Should we do the GM Flush again?? The price is hard to beat, and no mess to clean up.

Option 2, who makes an aftermarket pan, that is sturdy and has a drain plug in it?? No muss or fuss for me next change. I do not mind the expense difference over one of those plug kits. Peace of mind for me.

Does the trans gasket go one dry, ??

Hey Will, Grady and I just did mine. It probably took 20 minutes.

It actually wasnt all that messy at all and I would do it again myself vs bringing it to the dealer.

Are you looking for a deep pan?

Mine had a drain plug in it. Yours dosent? The gasket is reusable as well. No need to replace it.

Dude, he's got a 1500.

In answer to your question, I flushed the Wife's Burb at the dealer and provided them with fluid (guess which kind:thumbsup:) at 12k miles and never looked back. The fluid I used has a service life of 100k.

I would say a flush is better but not necessary. Your dollars, your choice. I would do it if it were me.

I would also spend my money on synthetic fluid instead of a deep pan if I had to choose between the two. Both is better.

You would tap the sides of the pan to get it to release from the trans- the gasket will cause it to "stick" sometimes. Word of caution- leave a couple of bolts in the trans holding the pan in place while you rap on it otherwise you'll take a bath. A helper to hold the pan while you take it down is a plus if you're doing this on your back in the garage. It makes a mess no matter what you do.

If you can locate a Heavy Duty Transmission Drain Funnel and follow Saratoga's advise you will have a betterer chance of making less of a mess. This on is made by Lisle P/N LIS17892

Loosen one side, allow as much to drain as possible, then remove the last couple bolts on the other side, and drop it.
