Hey guys, we have an 01 GMC Reg cab LB7, and I am having some tranny problems. When putting the truck into reverse this morning it did not move, and "drive" had the same result.

I scanned for codes and came up with P1724 (Trim Solenoid "B" Controlled Clutch Not Engaged) and P0700 (Transmission Control System Malfunction).

Now this sounds to me like it might be something simple such as a switch or solenoid?? Im not very knowlagable with transmissions and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks, Nick

Don't know about the other one but you need a tech2 to read the P0700. That's GM proprietary or something like that.

Yea I believe it means "dont attempt to repair this problem yourself. Come spend all your money at the dealer" :rolleyes5:

P0700 is just a generic code stating there is a transmission fault present. That is just there because the other code is there. Have you done any work on this thing lately>??? Shift kit install>???

No, the truck is completely stock with about 105Kmiles. This is a work truck with a fair amount of towing and hard miles, but regularly serviced.
