im not sure what trnny it is but the automatic in my back up gasser truck 88 chevy 1500 350sb is acting really wired i think its a 3speed with OD its got 1 2 d and od dont knwo much bout automatics it dosent shift at the right times. It seems to not shift untill its is at really high rpms then it shifts hard and it dosent seem to down shift. i check the fluid and its is full iv never had a automatic before some one please help could it be the torque converter going out??

i dont know when it was dun that is on my list of thing to try and do this week i dont have to drive it anymore casuse i just put a new starter in the 6.5 which was why i had to drive the backup

Probably has a 700R4.

Several things can cause the late shifts.

Without knowing exactly what it is and doing some pressure checks I can't say for sure.

TV cable could have issues.
As mentioned, fluid and filter.
Sticky governor possibly
