I traded my tongue pull Prowler travel trailer 3 weeks ago for a new Big Country (made by Heartland) 5th wheel. It is a 3250TS. We are going to take our first trip in it this weekend.

I changed out the pin box for a 5th Airborne air ride pin box. My son has one on his trailer and he really likes it. It took all the bounce and jerking around out of the ride. I am going to put a set of JT's Strong Arms on mine also like he did on his and do away with having to use a tripod. I have to pick them up at the dealer but won't have them on for the weekend.

I am really looking forward to using this baby a lot more than we did the other one.

I envy you guys how can use their campers year round. I can only look at mine in the shed for what seems like half the year.

I was just thinking the same thing...my trailer is frozen in so hard next to my garage that I couldn't think about getting it out until thaw.
Nothing would please me more than to load up and go somewhere warm.

Nice rig BTW...I know it's early, but how to you like towing the 5 'er compared to the bumper pull? A bit to get used to?

nice rig indeed .... the day after Christmas we left the mountains of western NC and headed to Texas ... our plans were to spend 3 weeks at a Thousand Trails CG near Houston, then move to another near Dallas for another 3 weeks .... all but a couple of days while we were near Houston the weather was absolutely beautiful and we really enjoyed being in that area .... unfortunately, just before we were to leave for Dallas my father suffered a stroke and we had to head back home (in a hurry) .... we are really looking forward to returning to Texas next January/February

Nice rig, Sarge... we were looking at a Bighorn 3650 for a long while; we really liked the quality of the Heartland trailers, and probably would have bought it if we had more truck... it would have made my 6.5 c2500 grunt pretty good.

Have fun with it!!!

Thanks guys. I really like the quality and floorplan. I don't see how it could be much better than this one. I have had several travel trailers over the years but nothing of this quality.

As for towing it vs a travel trailer. I have hauled several 5th wheel campers and a whole bunch of gooseneck trailers when I was transporting trailers so the experience is not new. I can say that is what convinced me to go 5th wheel this time.

The ease of hookup compared to a travel trailer with the sway control and load levelers was always a pain and as I get older I appreciate anything being made easier. Another feature I like is the central hookup point for water, sewer valves, etc. It has the panel for winterizing and flushing and all those goodies. The storage is huge and easily accessible.

The biggest problem is getting loose from the stuff here and getting my wife to put here stuff aside and just leave. I am going somewhere soon if she don't go so be it but I am going.

I hope that I can do it before I have to have knee replacement surgery. I want to get away for a while before I have to do the surgery.
