TPS ?

with a truck, we're experiencing some trouble with the accelerator pedal.

When you accelerate to merge, sometimes nothing happens, exactly the same as if you didn't accelerate, then suddenly, the truck revs up.
Almost dangerous when parking.

While cruising, sometimes the same thing happens. You push the pedal.... and nothing, then she revs up.
Sometimes, when cruising at constant speed, she accelerates itself...

My guess is the TPS. Any other thought ?

No TPS on the DS4, need to run Heath's 2000 rpm test, IP armature shaft broken possibly, hows it do with cruise control on same thing ???, if so that takes the APP out of the loop as in CC the PCM governs speed and not APP.

We"ll do the 2000 rpms test. Hope for him it will pass.
What about the sensor on the pedal accelerator assy ? could it be the culprit ?

That is why I asked about it's response when in cruise control, as APP is removed from the equation, and throttle control/feedback is done via the PCM.

Well,
apparently, everything is fine under cruise control.
That happens mostly when the truck is cold, and usually at low speed, during parking, at low speed (20-30mph).
I told him to do the 2000 rpms test, he will then report.

Is his PMD still on the pump. My 95 has a hesitation and erratic throttle when cold. I heated up the PMD with the hair dryer and it went away. Waiting to get one relocated to confirm.
