What is it with these people driving the new Tundra's lately? They all seem to think they have the fastest baddest thing on the road. I usually don't get involved with these guys but lately they have been getting on my nerves. Had to put one in his place today then he pulls up next to me and cannot believe he could not out run me. Wanted to know all the engine mods I had done. Then he didn't believe me when I told him it was pretty close to stock! (Has a few mods) Said his salesman (Toyota) told him they have test proving that their truck can out accelerate & out pull any truck on the road.:pound: I said he must be talking about half tons and he said nope any truck up to 1 ton's. So as we pulled away from the light I just had to spank his ass one more time.:eyebrows:

I had a guy in a tundra try to block me from merging, (road went from twoto one lane ahead) musta thought he had some hot stuff with his dual shotgun exhaust on his truck. Long story short, he would accelerate when I did, and try to block me from getting in front of him, but to his dismay, all he got was a little black smoke to sniff.

Idiot, who the hell believes a salesman that is trying to sell his **** to you.
 
Wanna have a good time.

Go to your yota dealer and let them try to talk you into trading your Dmax in for a tundra.

A lot of times they wont even approach you. Other times they will.

And if theyre really confident do what I did.

The salesguy came up to me with his tanned face and expensive trenchcoat. He asked me if I was interested in the tundra. I said hed really have to try to talk me into it, but sure. Ive driven a couple and they arent that bad.

After a lot of talking blah blah, he threw that truck trend report at me where they put the yota up against the HD trucks.

I smply said grab the towstrap out of me bed and hook it to the yota, if it wins Ill buy it. He then fed me the line that my truck obviously isnt stock. No kidding. I still insisted on it and even said id go in 2wd and let him use 4x4. He said he couldnt do that with a new truck for many reasons. I offered a race out on the street. A simple 60' race would do, but he wouldnt give in to that either. And then fed me the fuel economy line.

He claimed 20mpg on the 5.7. I said I know a few tundra owners and theyre happy to get 14mpg. He replied with they must drive them hard. I then said, I beat the living snot out of my truck and still average 15mpg with 35s and a motor that is nearly 1L bigger. He then of course said, well yours is a diesel. I simply said exactly, and the yota is not which is why you wont be getting me to buy one.

And I was polite and said thanks anyways. Have a nice day :D.

I raced one at the local airport drags last summer. We have it on video, it was really humiliating for him. I beat him off of the line, then out of the hole and then down the track. Talk about a spanking, imagine if I had a real tune!
 
thats pretty impressive for just a flashpaq.

Or it just goes to show how slow the yotas are.

Take it whichever way you like.
 
toyota is testing their diesel version down here now and the diesel is pretty quick...i ran one on the freeway and he gave me a run for my money...all blacked out and tared out but you could tell what it was....i won but not by much....still won't get me into a jap truck....im a fan of american and american only when it comes to trucks

it was in the dodge...which is just as quick as a d-max just more reliable...which the truck around it was better though....lol


If I was in the 6slow he'd of romped me.....lol

When referring to the dodges diesels always say cummins. When you say a dodge truck is more reliable than a GM truck you just opened up you ass for a big foot.

Now the Cummins was reliable, but the new ones arent much to brag about.
 
the new ones not much to brag about? they are more powerful and quieter than the new d-max...not by much but they are.....and you can't deny that that the cummins is a better engine....but I do agree, if I could take a chevy body throw a solid axle under it and drop in a cummins with the 48RE tranny....that truck would be the best truck out there by far.....

see now, this is what i'd do. i'd take a chevy body, throw it on a chevy chassis and drop a duramax and an allison in it.... now THAT truck would be the best out there by far..... :beer::p:D
 
as for the new 6.7 being quiter than the LMM. Thats pretty inacurate. I had my LB7 next to a 6.7 and mine was barely louder. I cant even hear the new LMMs when theyre idling. Itsd sad.

Now as for the power. The facts take over here. Dmax is rated at 365, Cummins rated at 350.

And I wouldnt get too proud of your trucks on a Dmax forum. Doesnt matter how great they are, people are gonna get defensive.
 
Can't we all just get along? My lil brother has an 03 Cummins Dually with a Smarty and Silverline stacks, and it rocks. We jag each other a little, but we all love to burn the dinosaurs.

i say that after test driving each one of the big 3 within the past 18 mos. i wouldn't go with any other brand. gm has what i need and the truck does all i ask of it..... :D
 
Im a huge Cummins fan.

Just cant find a reason to buy one when IMO the Gm truck is nicer for what I do. Especially when comparing my 03 to an 03 Dodge. The ride quality and interior alone were kind of a no brainer.

After all this is a Dmax forum, and this is a smack talk thread. so we can bash on the other guys a little.
