TOW RIG FOUND!

What happened with the one in jordan,mn?
This one looks pretty clean. The seller must have come down in price?

nice score... welcome to the world of the db2.... just be careful you dont get stepped on by a t-rex...lol

its really clean too... what are your plans? leaving it flat-deck or putting a dually box on?

That looks real nice and clean too.

Now you have to squeeze the power out of the DB2, although looks like you can get one with larger plungers for about $700 to bolt on there and output closer to what the DS4 can. Thats a pretty awesome upgrade for the mechanical pumps.

My reasons for being in Mn got shot to crap because my GF's parents planned a suprise vacation so I figured if I'm not already going to be there then I might as well look for a truck with less chances of rust.

I got it for 4,500 so my price goal was met and it looks like its been well cared for, the mechanic i talked to about it said the same.

Leaving it flat bed but I will be getting a bale bed or figuring out how to convert it to a bale bed. It will be out farm service truck with a Diesel tank, tools, and hopefully an air compressor (looking for a pto or belt driven pump).

Yeah, that will be an option for it sooner or later. I was doing some reading on the Moose pumps last night  . I have a walbro on the way to make sure it gets enough fuel to the pump, I ordered a boost guage for it, and will be fabing up a TM. It should do what i need as far as farm work, I will leave the go fast stuff for the 1/2 ton :D.

Nice rig.....whats the GVWR, 12,000?

Not sure, it was a factory C&C but its not an HD. It looks like the rear springs might be saggin so I will most likely upgrade those.

I thought the rear looked low. I have a set of super springs on mine, easy and quick installation over the leafs that are already there. Helps the sagging.

Depending on the condition of the springs I might end up with a new set of Deavers, Alcans, or ??? After I get everything loaded up on it I will figure out how much it weighs and what the springs need to be able to carry.

The c&c seem to have a different stance from the regular pick up box trucks.

IMO best device going that doesn't get much "air play" for some easy to install spring assist is www.activesupension.com saw it on a Saturday morning truck building show, I've had it installed since 2004 it's been to 5K# on rear axle a few times for short haul as with K1500 rear end even with other gear I've added, I'm not ready to make that an everyday or long distance occurrence. Big Blue from "friggin jersey" put a set on his SFS setup vs. adding leafs to sagging springs, last I heard from him about it; it was working well.

It looks like the Torsion bars might be cranked up to me but c&c trucks seem to sit more level from the factory to me. Ol' Blue's rear end sits VERY high compared to the front end.

When I get the springs set up and the truck sitting with a stance that suits me I might add the Active Suspension for improved stability. I want to make sure my leafs are up to par on their own first though. While loaded I don't want any iffy parts.

Buddy, what pump are you referring to? Where can one get more info on said pump?

I read about it HERE but you can see the guy on THIS photo site, or get subscribed to o i l b u r n e r s . n e t and PM Mel Agne. His user name there is "Agnem". He would just have to know it is for a GM 6.2/6.5, cost is based on what parts have to be replaced, not sure they sell stock of them.

5088/4911 IP'S are pretty good already..... you are talking about moose pumps, right? all he is doing is swapping in 4911 plungers and governor springs from gm pumps the 6.9/7.3 pumps from factory are governed at 2650rpm(around that) just taking the assembly from an old 6.2 IP and putting it in the 6.9/7.3 pump is like a huge deal for them...

why pay 700.00 when they can be had for less than that?

Ferd IDI's are governed at closer to 3200. it was the ones found in Cornbinders that were stopped at 26ish.
