Hey so I'm a little confused on the sequence of procedures for removing torsion bars. It's actually for my '96 GMC Safari Van, which is essentially a 1500 truck frame.
The way I see it now, I use the torsion tool/c clamp/pully remover to attach to the key, next to the adjusting bolt? I then tighten the tool to push the key up(load t-bars and raise vehicle)? How far do they need to be pushed up?
Once the t-bar is loaded(with torsion tool/c clamp/pully remover) do I then remove the adjusting bolt? I've heard there is a little bracket that needs to come out as well? Does it come out easy with the tool on the key?
Once the bolt and bracket are removed, do I just unload the tool?
Is the t-bar now unloaded and can be removed safely?
Thank you
PS. I'm parting this Van out, so nothing is going back in, so if there is an easier way to remove the t-bars I'm all ears!
