want to put two marker lights on each side of my tool box and a brake/tail lights right above the bed rails what would be the best way to wire them up i should just be able to splice into the wiring harness that goes to the rear end correct? but i got to thinking i want the appropriat side to flash when that sides turn signal is on but i want them to be running lights as well. also how do i make the brake/tail lights get brighter when i step on the brake with out a dubble filiment bulb anyone got any ideas im not to sure how to make this work

The turn signal should be easy as you should be able to "tap" into the harness and turn on one signal to see if it it left or right and wire it from there. The "brighter Tail/Brake light might be done with LED's . Hope this helps, Keith

I Have some of the Small like 1 1/2 by 3 in lights with the two bulbs in them but i dont think they will work for what i want to do

are there a better type of lights i could use

If i tap into the turnsignal wire wont it only be on when i have that turn signal on or is there 12v going to it all the time and then when i turn on the signal it flashes??

yep that is the typ of light that i have but mine i think mine are pretty old found them at work not sure how long they have been seting around

get some of the 4 wire trailer wire ( the flat stuff ) and run up into bed then into the box and split off as needed to the lights. may be easiest to tap into at the trailer plug/tail light distribution block at the back under the bed.

If you have a 6 way trailer plug the center wire has 12v on it. The wire should run from the fuse block to the back of the truck. If you have or can find this wire tap into it. If it is a constant 12v just put a switch on the lights. Here is a wire diagram I found for all the common trailer plug connections.

Hope this helps!
