I had to change the battery this evening on the wife's '07 Tahoe. The tire pressure monitors are now not reading. Just a -dash where the pressure used to display. I put it into relearn mode and tried to get it to relearn the positions but no luck. Now it's just showing a TPS warning light on the dash. How do I get them to re-display? Yes they all worked before.

If I remember correctly, you put your DIC into relearn mode (turn key to ON, hold lock and unlock on remote at the same time till it beeps), then start letting air out of your tires. Start with the driver's front, let air out till the horn beeps, then move to passenger front, let air out till horn beeps, etc.

Then put air back into your tires. Procedure should be in your owner's manual.

Of course, you could also go to a tire shop - they have a tool that does it all in about 2 miniutes. Most won't even charge for it.

The relearn mode works with the beeps. The problem is all of 'em are readin a -dash instead of a pressure. I couldn't dig further into the book because she had a hair appt (you know how those are) and drove off before I could snag the manual.
Got my tire shop across the cornfield so I can take it to him Sat AM if need be. He just put 4 new Michelins on it a month ago.

What, she planning to read the manual while getting all purdied-up?

BTW, Alicia says reading the manual is for wimps... just start pressing buttons until you find the right combination! LOL!

Manual's in the console. And she has read (part of) it a couple of times when I told her she HAD to to find some obscure doodad that the 'poke at stuff' trick didn't work on. Of course that's when I'm not there to figure it out and I can't tell her by phone.

Not yet Marty.

on edit:
I'm going to try the relearn trick again by the weekend but I'm not real confident. I found a TSB that says it should reset after 5 min of driving. That didn't happen. I MAY need a tech 2 reset. I'm not thrilled about that...:mad2:

When all else fails, read the book. :agreed: :D
