when i do time set or tdco learn the motor does not rev up or change tone or anything. am i not doing it right?

In OBD1 it does not increase idle, idle stays the same. the only thing it does is bring timing down to 3.5degrees cam advance. It wont change much, but I notice a slight change in the engine idle. And you have to be more than 170F for it to work effectively.

I am above 180. Are you guys running 3.5 and - 1.94. I keep getting the dreaded code 88 miserable prick

well, in order to get -1.94 you need to be around 3.8-3.9 average in timeset. You have to clear DTC88, then run timeset, stop it 5-10 seconds later, then run TDCO Learn. If it hits -2.02 while in TDCO learn try revving a little and if it jumps down to -1.94 or -1.83 or something like that just stop the learn and it should stay there.

You have to clear the DTC prior to running the procedure each time. Revving always makes mine go down.

it suck i had it right where i wanted it and two weeks later the pump went. I knew it ws bad when i bought the truck
