I forgot to mention this. My Dually has a ticking sound coming from under the dash on acceleration. It sounds like the niose a dog shock collar makes just before the zap. Truck runs preetty good except it smokes alot if accelerated before downshift. I attributed that to the factory wastegate setup Truck runs fine. Also the ticking comes if the truck accelerates under cruise control as well. it's not an engine related noise..What could it be ?

It should not smoke because of factory wastegate, much the opposite. You might have an exhaust crossover or manifold leak. Do you have a boost gauge?

Under the dash ??? pass side??? bearing in the fan blower motor, or something in the squirrel cage ? mine does that sounds sort of mechanical, I get a slight change in pitch when accelerating when alternator puts out a little more juice to the blower motor. I don't know how that relates to smoke on acceleration though.

But your truck luck probably the hamster's wheel out pacing the hamsters and their toe nails are clicking on the wheel rungs, rite before killing the FSD during a TDCO setting session :)

Entire ex system is new. No leaks.

No the ticking is in the cab and sounds like it's coming form the acc pedal area and is directly relative to accerlation but does not change with acceleration.

Hmmm inother words you hear it when you accelerate but it's consistent tempo. Does not change with RPMs.

It's not mechanical. It sounds excatly like the sound a dog shock collar makes before it zap poochie.

IIRC My Tahoe had the same noise. I never figured it out and it didn't bother me enough.

The smoke is a dark grey and the truck has to lug to get it. Like if I'm towing and in OD at about 50-55 MPH and give it fuel it smokes unless i let off or downshift the tranny manually.

Truck pulls good. MPG isnt that great but my old 2000 1 ton wasnt that great either and the dually is bigger/heavier.

I have no guages but ordering some right now. I tapped and plugged the ex manifold for future EGT when I changed it.
